FORMER TEACHER - Food Shopping in Zlate Moravce


NITRAZDROJ is a smaller market located much closer to the teacher house and school. It has a pretty good selection for a small shop but much shorter hours than the supermarkets.

The town has five large supermarkets:
·       Kaufland
·       Lidl
·       Billa
·       Tesco
·       Coop Tempo

Notes: Kaufland is the furthest from the teacher guest house. The other four are practically adjacent to one another in the center of town. Hours are limited on Sundays but during the week they are generally open from 08:00 – 22:00.

The self-checkout kiosks at Tesco have an English option for the audio instructions. Unfortunately it won’t change the labels on the produce pictures to English but it certainly does help.

There is a small shop at the entrance to Tesco that sells draught wine. It’s about €2 for a liter. If you don’t have a bottle they lend you a plastic one for 15 cents. It’s not world-class wine but it’s rather good for the price.

FORMER TEACHER - Leaving Early in June

For the past two years Peter has offered to have the native speakers leave before the end of June. The school is open until the last Thursday in June. This year the last day of school is Thursday, June 27th. Peter may want you to stay through the end of June next year. In 2019 he asked all three native speakers if they would like to skip the last two weeks. There's nothing wrong with departing early but you need to be aware of the possibility so that you can plan. Consider this when making your flight arrangements for the end of June.  Remember than if you leave early and opt to travel you will only be paid a half month's salary for June.  https://www.facebook.com/jskramar/
