FORMER TEACHER - Traveling Outside of Slovakia


If you plan to travel to a neighboring country you will likely use buses or a bus to Bratislava to catch a train. Zlate Moravce has a train station but the train system in Slovakia is not efficient for this kind of travel.

If you book a train ticket from Bratislava to a city like Prague, your train tickets must be purchased in advance – either online or by using a kiosk at the station. Also, with some train lines in Eastern Europe you purchase a train ticket and separately a seat reservation. If you find a ticket for a ridiculously low price you’re probably just looking at the seat reservation fee.

If you plan to fly somewhere on the weekend, you can look for flights that leave early Friday afternoon. You need to allow time to take a bus to the Bratislava or Vienna airport. You should plan a return flight on Sunday afternoon that will allow you time to get a bus back to Zlate Moravce.

FORMER TEACHER - Leaving Early in June

For the past two years Peter has offered to have the native speakers leave before the end of June. The school is open until the last Thursday in June. This year the last day of school is Thursday, June 27th. Peter may want you to stay through the end of June next year. In 2019 he asked all three native speakers if they would like to skip the last two weeks. There's nothing wrong with departing early but you need to be aware of the possibility so that you can plan. Consider this when making your flight arrangements for the end of June.  Remember than if you leave early and opt to travel you will only be paid a half month's salary for June.  https://www.facebook.com/jskramar/
